Hi team,
Can you tell me whether this Redriver MUX- TUSB1046AI-DCI , supports Dual role data for USB 3.2 (10Gbps)? Currently i am confused by seeing the attached information from datasheet. It says it is supporting DFP. Could you clarify.
Also, i am using DP alt mode and my device will act as source only for DP ALt mode.

    Hello,

    The TUSB1046-DCI is intended for DFP/Host applications in a USB3 system. This means that in a DP Alt-mode application, the TUSB1046A-DCI would only act as the source in the connection.

    This MUX IC can also supports DFP and UFP for USB 3.2 Gen2 10Gbps right?

    Hi,

    The USB 3.2 interface is bi-directional (SSTX and SSRX). However when DisplayPort Alt. mode is used we must define the video source and sink, as DisplayPort is a uni-directional interface. 

    This part can be used in DFP and UFP applications for USB 3.2, but if DP Alt. mode is used this part will only work for a source side implementation.

    If DP Alt. mode is not used, TUSB1142/ TUSB1042 can be used for USB 3.2 x1 applications.

    TUSB1044A and TUSB1104 can be used for USB 3.2 x2 applications.
