Dear TI experts,

Do you have any ideas about making watchdog function using EN pin or nRST pin of TLIN1028-Q1?

(I.e. sending reset signal to host MCU if LIN communication is unavailable for the specific time duration)

Please check this issue. Thanks.

    Hi Chase,

    Please note that the data sheet specifies that nRST is pulled low when the VCC undervoltage condition persists beyond the specified detection time, and it returns high when VCC recovers. Hence, it should not be related to LIN communication activity and may not be configured to go low if no LIN message is observed within a specified time.

    Furthermore, EN may be used to force the device into/out of sleep. However, there should be no internal timer that automatically changes EN when LIN communication stops.

    Hence, would recommend an external watchdog or a device with the feature (TLIN1431-Q1 for example) as needed, thanks.
