Hi,

In our application, DP83825IRMQR, we are driving an LED(green, VF=2.0V) using the LED0 (pin 4) to indicate Activity and Link status. There are 2 questions.

No.1)What is the maximum drive strength of this pin? (ex. Iout of LED0=5mAtyp.~10mAmax. etc.)

No.2)Can it safely drive an LED with a 10mA* source current? (*considering the IF[mA] of LED and 1.3mA for "auto neg")

Hi Tommy,

Please refer to section 5.8 Figure 5-6 and 5-7 in datasheet for drive strength characterization. We have only characterized up to 8mA sink or source of the GPIOs. Any higher may cause further degradation of the VOH/L, which in turn may eat into the headroom for the turn-on voltage of the LED.
