TMDS181: I2C read/write register 0x0C (MISC CONTROL)

Part Number: TMDS181

Bits [7:2] can be written and read back correctly, but bit[1:0] always read back 0, write has no effect.
I2C_EN pin is pulled HIGH (I2C register mode).
My application: FPGA -> TMDS181 -> HDMI RX, 4K60 Retimer mode.
