TCAN2450-Q1: wake up device via WUP pattern

Part Number: TCAN2450-Q1

Hi team

My customer has below questions on wake up device from sleep mode via WUP patten.

Assume that VCAN is powered by VCC2 LDO and VCC2 proivde the power supply to RTC device which need to always on.

  1. In sleep mode , when VCC1 is off and VCC2 is on, does CAN tranceiver be waked up via WUP pattern?

       2. In sleep mode, when VCC1 is ON and VCC2 = ON ,  does CAN tranceiver be waked up via WUP pattern?

       3. when device works under Standby,Sleep, Restart modes, .can VCC1 and VCC2 always keep on ?

Thansk

  • Hi Ted,

For questions 1 and 2, the value of the CAN1_TRX_SEL bit field in the CAN_CNTRL_1 register (0x10[2-0]) will determine if the CAN transceiver will wake up from a WUP. If it is set to 100b or 110b, the transceiver will react to a WUP.

The state of VCC1 is controlled by the VCC1_CFG bit field in the VREG_CONFIG1 register (0x0D[7-6]) and VCC2 is controlled by the VCC2_CFG bit field in the SBC_CONFIG register (0x0C[1-0]). VCC1 and VCC2 can be programmed to stay on in all modes except Restart and Fail-Safe mode. In Restart mode, the regulators will be ramping up.
