FPC402: FPC402, OSFP support, and EVM availability

Part Number: FPC402

Hi,

We're evaluating the FPC402 as the per-port controller (multiple devices cascaded on the host I2C bus) in our system with more than 20 OSFP ports per chassis. I have a few questions before we commit and buy the EVM:

  1. The datasheet centers on QSFP/QSFP-DD. Is the FPC402's low-speed handling (presence, interrupt, reset, low-power mode, ModSel, module I2C pass-through) compatible with the OSFP and OSFP-XD pinouts? Any known gaps or recommended external handling (e.g., the 3-level pins)?
  2. The FPC402EVM appears to be QSFP-only. Is there an EVM or reference design with OSFP cages, or a recommended adapter approach for evaluating OSFP modules?
  3.  Is there an FPC402 Programmer's Guide (register-level programming model, address assignment sequence, scheduled/broadcast write usage, recovery, etc) beyond the datasheet? If so, how do we obtain it?
  4. Is there a newer or upcoming device (supporting OSFP/OSFP-XD) or higher-speed devices (e.g., 1 MHz downstream I2C or I3C) that we should design around instead?

If there's an applications engineer for the FPC402 line we could speak with directly, we'd appreciate a contact. We're ordering the EVM this week and would like to validate timings on hardware.

Thanks,
Mohsen
