TCAN1575-Q1: TCAN1575-Q1 Current Consumption in Sleep Mode with Selective Wake Enabled

Part Number: TCAN1575-Q1

Hello,

I am trying to evaluate TCAN1575-Q1 in sleep mode, with partial networking (selective wake) active.
However, I am having trouble understanding how does the selective wake current consumption is related to normal sleep current.

With Selective Wake enabled, does the TCAN1575-Q1 continuously consume approximately 585 µA while waiting for a wake-up frame, or is the additional current only drawn during actual CAN frame reception and wake-frame evaluation?

Thank you,
Robert
  • Hi Robert,

That additional 550uA is consumed only when the bus is active, i.e other nodes are sending CAN frames so the selective wakeup receiver is actively detecting WUF.

If the bus is idle for tsilence, the bias will be GND thus that additional current will not be consumed.

    Regards,

    Sean
