TUSB216I: The D1M & D2M and D1P & D2P issue

Part Number: TUSB216I

Hi,

Based on the datasheet, the D1M pin need to connect to D2M and D1P pin need to connect to D2P, is it right? And we are afraid it is short circuit, thanks.

  • Hello,

Yes, DP/DM must be connected beneath the redriver, as shown in the layout example in section 8.4.2. This is because our redriver does not carry the DP/DM signal through the redriver and instead passively injects current into the signal as it moves beneath the redriver. If DP/DM are not shorted, the USB2 connection will be broken.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
