DP83TD535-Q1: DP83TD535-Q1 compatible MCU and 10BASE-T1M

Hi,

We are starting our development and prototyping with the multidrop single pair ethernet standards and have two specific questions regarding TI's products.

  1. What will be the recommended MCU to be used with the DP83TD535/DP83TD530 10BASE-T1S phys? It mentions the OA 3-pin interface, but to my knowledge there is no TI MCU that supports this interface. Will there be a TI controller with this interface in the future? At the moment we only found the NXP MCX A5 or possibly the STM32C5 (not sure about this one).

  2. Will there also be 10BASE-T1M PHYs from TI, now that the standard is final? Is there any information on how similar they may be to the 10BASE-T1S PHYs regarding a migration in the future? With easyness of migration we mean the interface and possible pin-to-pin compatibility.

Best regards,
Sören

  • Hi Sören,

There are plans to support OA3P interface through the ICSS core with the following TI Processors/MCUs. Please do check with the MCU product lines on the latest updates on progress of getting this implementation done.

    Processors:

    • Sitara:”AM64x /AM24x”

    ASM MCU :

    • Industrial : AM2611/AM2612/AM263P4/AM2634/ AM13E480
    • Auto: AM2612-Q1/ AM263P4-Q1/AM2634-Q1

We are still in the evaluation phase for T1M PHYs, there is not much information confirmed as of yet. You can reach out to our marketing department over email for more concrete timelines/information.

    Best,

  • Ok, great, we will wait for updates on the am64/24 series then and start using the MAC-PHY-SPI part initially.

    Thank you for the information.

    Best regards,
    Sören
