DS125DF410: How to configure the retimer for a standard data rate manually?

Part Number: DS125DF410

Hi team,

We ere currently working with DS125DF410 retimer device. Our incoming data rate is 6.25GHz. We are using SigCon Architect to check the Eye opening of the received signal.

Within the GUI, inside 'High level Page' tab, i am choosing manual mode in 'Mode Selection'. The required VCO frequency is 6.25 GHz then clicked on 'Write Rate Regs' option. This is writing required values into the PPM count registers. I have reset the CDR after writing to registers. Still the Channel Indicator shows CDR Unlocked.

If I choose Standard Mode in Mode Selection and Interlaken 1 in 'Standard Data Rate Selection' and reset the CDR, then the CDR is getting locked.

Can you please tell if we can program this retimer manually for a standard data rate? or the manual mode is limited to non standard date rates only?

Also can you tell me what should be the value of 0x2F register for 6.25Gbps line rate in manual mode?

Thanks,

Keerthana

  • Hi Keerthana,

Our ethernet retimer AE is out of office. Please expect a response by next Monday.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Charles,

Just circling back on this to see, if they had a chance to review on this.

I would like to add few more questions in the mean time.

    1. What are the HEO and VEO values being shown on the Eye Monitor Page in SigCon Architect GUI? Are they the latest sampling point in the 64x64 matrix? Or the VEO and HEO obtained after complete EOM data accumulation?

    2. Can you please provide some information on how to calculate voltage and phase of the incoming signal to the retimer?

    3. When reading 64x64 EOM data, we are basically getting 1 complete UI, but how is the GUI showing 2 UIs? Continuing reading for next 64x64 also?

I would be grateful for your reply.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Keerthana
