TUSB2046BI 'Full Speed' / USB2.0 speeds, please clarify

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB2046B

Customer inquiry;

We have produced several hundred of our new mini routers that have the TUSB2046BI.

The problem is we have not been able to get the hub to run as USB2.0 speeds.

I has not been a issue till now as we need to run a 4g LTE modem that can run at 50-100mb speeds

As far as I can tell we have connected it right and have not left out any components.

I have attached the schematic for the way it is connected.

We do not use the eeprom.

Can this device go beyond 'Full Speed' 12MHZ?? I have the schematic if needed.

  • USB 2.0 is a specification that defines three different speeds of operation - USB low-speed (1.5 Mbps), USB full-speed (12 Mbps), and USB high-speed (480 Mbps).

    A hub can be compliant if it only supports LS & FS and is intended for "embedded" applications - this is the case with the TUSB2046B as specified in the datasheet.

    The TUSB2046B cannot transfer data at USB high-speed rates.
