USB VID

We are planning on using the USB interface on the TI Concerto DSP in our product.

My understanding is that we do not need to pay any USB licensing fees and we can just use TI's vendor ID number. Is this correct?

Also, can we put the USB logo on our product since I am assuming TI's chip has passed USB compliance testing, or does our product as a whole need to pass USB compliance testing?

Are there any other issues we should be aware of when using the USB interface on this device? Thanks

You will need to check with the specific product group on their policy as far as utilizing the TI VID.  The official USB-IF guidelines are that the "branded" company's VID and assigned PID should be used.  There are processes in place to allow end-equipment manufacturers to utilize the silicon provider's VID, but there must be written permission and within TI this is handled by the individual product line.

You can only use the logo if your product has gone through certification and complaince testing - you can find details for this on the USB-IF Compliance page.
