Hello,

my question is about the output connections (or sinks) on the TMDS442.

The inputs are fitting perfect with HDMI connectors. So uninterrupted differential lines can be layouted.

The outputs are "mirrored" compared to an HDMI connector, so vias have to be used.

When I use vias, does the signal quality getting worse ?

Do reference designs exist ?

Hello Ralph,

Vias can degrade the signal integrity, however most designs have to deal with these components.

Attached is a document with some suggestions for high-speed signal routing.

Ralf,

Another possible option would be to put the the connector on the opposited of the PCB (top vs bottom). You will still have the vias, but you won't have to cross all the lines.
