In the datasheet of the product, I can see that it is of very small dimensions (milimeters). Is there any chance this product comes in a bigger package, so that I can connect it directly to a protoboard?

The device comes in the two packages in the datasheet. The DGK package is leaded and of a decent size: 3mm X 3mm. Please feel free to contact me at cheick.kante@ti.com if you have more question about the device.

I was hoping I could find it in DIP size. I'll just get and adapter.
What is the difference between the "DGKR" and "DGK"?

No problem! The DGKR will be samples sent in a Tape and Reel (R).
