LMH0387 IBIS Model

Hi,

I would like to do the PCB simulation with LMH0387(3G-SDI), but I can't find the IBIS model of LMH0387 on the TI web.

I have an idea that merged LMH0344(3G-SDI Cable EQ) & LMH0302(3G-SDI Cable Driver) pin definition and LMH0387 package data.

But, I not sure that can work well.

Dose any body have another idea to solve this problem?

    Here is a two part response to your question.

    IBIS models single-ended and differential two levels drivers pretty well based on V/I and V/T tables.  It is less intended for Signal Conditioning features such as Equalization and transmit emphasis (Pre-E and De-E).  A new extension of IBIS called IBIS-AMI is starting to get developed and will support more of these advanced features better but it is still young and evolving.  The IBIS model will not represent the integrated SMPTE return loss network well or the adaptive equalizer.  It models the board side IO (not the cable side).

    As a starting point, the two models you noted could be used to represent the differential input to the Cable driver, and also the Equalizer output.  The Driver used in the Equalizer output is adjustable and supports various swing and offset settings.  We do not have a model that covers off of the possible settings at this time.  We do have a preliminary IBIS model that I can send to you that represents the default setting of the LVDS output.  Please email me at:  John.Goldie at TI.com to receive it.

  • I was also looking for an IBIS/IBIS-AMI or Hspice model for LMH0387 3G-SDI line driver in order to support Signal Integrity analysis. Since this information is not available on the product folder, could you please provide me any detail to support my analysis or provide the model itself?

    We're currently running a board design for video application. We'd use the LMH0387 3 Gbps HD/SD device to interface input video streams (SMPTE 424M, SMPTE 292M, SMPTE 344M, and SMPTE 259M compliant) toward a processing fpga.

    Due to all this high speed interfaces we need to run since the preliminary layout phase a high speed signal integrity analysis. Are there available any IBIS-AMI model or similar availble to support the analysis?
