Regarding: HDMI Switch (TMDS442)

Hi,

I want to connect 2-HDMI sources to 2 different sinks (Monitor and TV) in following modes.

1) In first mode, Source1 will be connected to Sink1 and Sink2 will be in High impedance state.

2) In second mode, Source2 will be connected to Sink1 and Sink2 will be in High impedance state.

3) In third mode, Source1 will be connected to Sink2 and Sink1 will be in High impedance state.

For this, I have chosen TMDS442 chip. Because, it is 4X2 HDMI switch.

For first mode, If I keep SA1 = SB1 = LOW, OEN1(neg) = LOW, I2CEN1 = HIGH and SA2 = SB2 = LOW, OEN2(neg) = HIGH, I2CEN2 = LOW.

Source1 data and i2c signals will be connected to Sink1 and Sink1 HPD will be connected Source1 HPD.

Sink2 data and i2c signals will be in High impedance state. But Sink2 HPD will be connected to Source1 HPD.

My question is, Will it creates any problem, because Sink1 and Sink2 HPDs will be connected to same Source.

Note:

I will use Sink2 in third mode only and it will be connected to Source1 only.

To reduce number of control switches, I want to tigh SA2 and SB3 to LOW in all cases.

And In third mode, OEN2(neg), I2CEN2 will be enabled and In other modes will be disabled.

Thanks,

Raju.
