Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM26LS31

Hello, I am forwarding an inquiry from my customer:

>>>>   1.) Customer wants to know if a HiZ output coming from the AM26LS31 will be considered open when connecting to the AM26LS32 thus bring the output of the chip high.
2.) He is using a AM26LS32 receiver which is connected to a 74AHCT540 buffer. He has problems with the Output ENABLE pin, and wants to know if he could use a 10K resistor as a pull up at the input port of the buffer.   >>>>>

  • George,

Yes, the inputs will be considered open, but any leakage current may lower the differential input voltage. If the LS32 inputs have a standard 100 ohm termination resistor then external resistors must be added to provide at least 200mV input differential.

    Yes, a 10k pull-up resistor is acceptable on the LS32 "Y" outputs.
