PCA9515B vs. PCA9515A

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCA9515B, PCA9515A

I'm having some issues ( cause, yet to be determined ) with bus-lockup with the PCA91515A.  I came across

the PCA9515B and was wondering: What is the advantage of using a PCA9515B vs. the PCA9515A?  The specs seem very similar.

Thanks.

  • Hi David,

The PCA9515B supports clock stretching while the PCA9515A does not. I did notice that the features list of the PCA9515A data sheet still says that it supports clock stretching we are looking into correcting that.

It is recommended to use the PCA9515B as we intend to make the PCA9515A not recommended  for new design.
