Bi-directional HD-SDI over same coax possible ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH0340, LMH0341

Our customer has asked .. any advice appreciated.

I’ve been looking at HD-SDI as a potential physical link for video in a new development, and I see that TI has some parts targeted at that application.  I’m also trying to find out if there are any parts that would work in concert with the HD-SDI parts to allow a bi-directional serial communications link over the same coax cable carrying the HD-SDI.  Any help on this would be appreciated.

Part numbers are:  LMH0340 and LMH0341

  • Greetings -

Currently the streaming video application would likely need two COAX lines, one for each direction.

There are schemes to send control channels in the opposite direction of the video (Channel Link 3 for example) and other ways to do this but usually the signals are freq isolated not the same band.

I would suggest two coax at this time for the bi-directional full duplex video application.
