Hello,
We are trying to use a TUSB2046B as a simple 4 port hub, but are experiencing issues with the device. All tests so far have been on Windows 7 PCs, the first issue was that some PCs would fail to recognize the USB Hub (or rather, recognize the device, but Windows would indicate the device was not working correctly). Then on other PCs, it would be recognized and installed just fine. Of course we get the "device may perform better" message because this is not a Hi-Speed hub, but some devices such as memory sticks will not even be recognized or show up as any kind of device. I'm not sure if this is a fault of the specific type of USB stick (Patriot 8gb) or a fault of the hub. Perhaps some USB 2.0 devices are not backward compatible?
Power is not an issue, as all hub ports are powered externally via a 5v supply.
I've searched through other TUSB2046B posts and have not found one that had quite this issue. Looking at other schematics,. the only big differences I see are that we do not have ferrite beads or other EMI suppression (Due to board size limitations), and the reset circuit could be made simpler. Is there anything else that stands out as incorrect in our design?
Thanks very much,
-Michael
