SN65LVDS100 Storage Temperature range

Hi everybody,

in the datasheet the storage temperature range of the SN65LVDS100D is not specified.

I need to know the max and min temperature the device can be safely stored.

Thanks,

Fabio

  • Fabio,

SN65LVDS100D storage temperature follows device’s Moisture Sensitivity Level (MSL) rating.  SN65LVDS100D has an MSL rating of 1.

    Rating Level:

MSL Explanation in terms of shelf life follows JEDEC.  Please see link below for further explanation.

  • Hi Atul,

sorry but what is that range then ?

As far as i know the MSL level is the device sensitibiy to humidity. That is how much time the device can be exposed to the air at certaing humidity level and temperature before its damaged.

MSL 1 means that there is no need of any bag to protect it.

What i need it is a different thing. Supposing the device is stored in a bag perfectly sealed, what is the maximum and minimum temperature i can leave it before it is damaged ?

    Thanks for you support

    Fabio

  • Fabio,

For a sealed bag, the shelf life of the device will be  between 12 and 24 months at <40C and <90% relative humidity (depending on MSL). This does not necessarily mean that the device will be damaged outside of these tolerances.  What this means is that the combination of the device and package will start to degrade.  For example, in a tape and reel package the tape may start becoming loose which may lead to manufacturing issues later.  In many cases, the packaging may degrade faster than the device, therefore, min/max temperature at which the device is damaged becomes a secondary concern for a sealed package scenario.
