Hi,

We are developing a USB 3.0 to SATA II converter. In that we are plan to use TUSB9260 controller. Now i have following queries, Please Clarify immediately.

A) Data Manual of TUSB9260 speaks about configuration of controller from external flash memories and firmware resides on the flash device. Now should we develop the firmware or TI provides us the firmware. If so how do we load the firmware.

B) One of my requirement states that the device should be detected by the windows file manager. This means the TUSB9260 controller with 512k bytes should be detected by windows as a separate disk drive. When I connect the SSD to the controller, there should be two disk drives or how?: Like One the TUS9260 controller with flash memory and second one with SSD drive. Please clarify.

C) Does the controller support, SATA SSD HOT plug-unplug.

D) What can be the maximum size of the flash memory we can use ?. If i want to write my Company name to it, that is when the device is detected, our company name should pop as like any external devices or how?

E) Is there any product already available in the Market with using TUSB9260? If yes, please give me the product details and share the product photos.

Hello Ganes,

A) TI offers a default firmware located at http://www.ti.com/litv/zip/sllc421c

B) During enumeration, the firmware sets a "dummy drive" but once the enumeration is complete only the SSD will be displayed on device manager.

C) Yes, it does.erhaps there is an IC that already manages this, I recommend to post a question on the Digital Power forum at http://e2e.ti.com/support/power_management/digital_p

D) You can modify some USB descriptors to include some information like the vendor ID, please refer to Section 4.3 of the TUS9261 Flash Burner User's Guide available at http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sllu125b/sllu125b.pdf

Hope, you will refer some product..

Anyway you confirmed that, the IC will support the Hot plug and unplug.. then,Why again i need to post the same question in other forum? (Question - C)
