Hi,

I am currently working on a DVI LVDS bridge. I will use the TFP403 in combination of DS90C387A. So after 2 weeks and lots of applications notes I have made a schematic (schematic attached 6153.DVI _LVDS.pdf) for it

I will use this board with an LG Panel (datasheet attached 6712.ASUS_ML229H_LM215WF3-SLC1_Datasheet.pdf), so I have some question...perhaps somebody can help me.

1. LVDS output of the DS90C387A are A0 - A7 but I have to know If the first 4 are even or odd (see page 10 of LCD datasheet).

2. User control pins CLT1/CLT2 has to be connected or can I leave them NC?

3. Are my connection for RSVD correct? (Pin 42)

4. Which type of elkos to you suggest?

5. I use ferrit beads which have 600ohm@100MHz is that ok?

For starting PCB I have read some guide lines from you. Is it really necessary to have an 4 layer design? If yes will this layer configuration work: signal/VCC/GND/signal?

I know I have a lots of question but I hope somebody can help me!

Hi Juergen,

For Q1: In dual pixel mode (odd and even pixel), odd is the first pixel on channels A0-A3 and even is the second pixel on channels A4-A7. Please see literature snla015 and snla014 for more details color mappings:

Hello Juergen,

Regarding your schematic:

2. CTL1 and CTL2 can be left unconnected.

3. Place a 10K resistor on all the RSVD terminals going to VCC.

4. "elkos" if you are referring to capacitors, please see the attached document.

5. Ferrite beads, 600ohm@100MHz is good, check also that it is rated for 200mA minimum.

there is no limitation to use the TFP403 in 2-layer nor 4-layer board; a 4-layer configuration of signal/vcc/gnd/signal is OK.

Everything else looks correct on the schematic.

Hallo Elias,

thank you for your help! I modified my schematic in respectively of your answer. So I have one last question about the capicator for power supply on TFO403. In my schematic (5282.DVI _LVDS.pdf) I have now one tantalum (22uF) and one electrolytic (10uF) capacitor in parallel for broadband EMI filtering. Do you agree or should I delete the electrolytic one?

Hello Juergen,

You can eliminate the electrolytic and leave only the tantalum along with the 0.01u network.
