Support for TLK100EXTEVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLK100

Hi,

I have purchased this evaluation module and we would like to run some tests using an external microcontroller to configure the TLK100 via MDIO. I am connecting the eval board and I’m not reading back what I am writing to registers in MDIO bus. One thing I noticed is that when I provide 5V to the board, only the 3.3V LED is being turned on. 1.1V and 1.8V LEDs are off. Is this a normal behavior? Do you have an expert opinion regarding the test we are trying to implement?

Thanks,

Luis

  • Hi Luis,

the leds of the 1.1v (LD200) and 1.8v(LD202) are off, this is normal behaviour( until we have a new rev of this board). the board should still work. you can try establish a link with some other ethernet PHY (connect an ethernet cable between them) and you should see link up indication on the board.

for the MDIO/MDC protocol please refer to section 4.2 Serial Management Interface in the datsheet (table 4.1 and figures 4.2 and 4.3). your microcontroller should be configured to this kind of communications.

for further assistance you can contact me directly.
