RS485 compliance? SN65HVD1792 and SN65HVD1786

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65HVD1786, SN65HVD1792

We are using SN65HVD1792 and SN65HVD1786 RS-485 transceiver chips, and I need to find out if they are fully RS-485 compliant, and if not, in what way(s) they are not.

Some TI datasheets specify full compliance, but this datasheet does not, and I am reasonably sure the omission is on purpose.

  • 1) EIA/TIA-485 specifies a Vod-min of +/- 1.5V across a 54 ohm load. The SN65HVD1786 and '92  comply up to 85 deg C. Above that temperature the Vod drop by 0.1V.

    2) EIA/TIA-485 specifies a maximum change in output common-mode for the two binary states of Voc(pp) =f 200mV. The SN65HVD1786 and '92  have a Voc(pp) of 500mV,
