No, it is not required.
The TUSB3410 can work without EEPROM, you just have to install the TI WDF USBUART Single Driver on your operating system in order to download the firmware once connected to the USB host.
Regards.
The utility available at ti.com is a wrapper which unpacks the driver and all the necessary files, after that you still need to run the driver.exe to install the driver, have you completed that? The unwrapped files are located at c:\program files\texas instruments.
Regards.
I have TI TUSB3410 Win2K Driver Installation Files Setup in folder C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments and TUSB3410 Single Driver Installer in C:\Program Files\ Texas Instruments Inc.
I had launched this setup file in folder C:\Program Files\ Texas Instruments Inc\TUSB3410 Single Driver Installer before I have added last post here.
No changes. Win 7 still doesn't find any new device.
I have installed the driver, but device is not installed, because Win 7 didn't find any device connected to pc.
I attach my Device Manager, but unknown device is not here.
You can used translator for translate of czech language in device manager.
I had reinstalled Windows and Unknown Device has been detected. I have installed TI_WDF_USBUART_SINGLE_DRIVER_TI_V3.3b_wrapper. I would like install driver now and I can choose MSP-EXP430F5438 USB - Serial Port, MSPFET430UIF - VCP, TLC59xxEVM, TUSB3410, TUSB3410 UART EVM. When I choose TUSB3410 or VCP, Windows unrecomended instalation and Windows has not been detect reconnected device.
Please see the attached file just to make sure you are not missing something.
