I have questions about the Ti/National DS92LX1621 and DS92LX1622. We want to use them in a non-digital video application. What we want to do is use the combination DS92LX1621/DS92LX1622 to create a communication link between our two subsystems. The subsystems are connected by 10 meters of cable (CAT-5) and they must be galvanically isolated.
The communication link would operate in two modes. In one mode the Master subsystem would configure the FPGA. In the second mode the Master subsystem would perform register reads/writes to/from the configured FPGA. I have included a bit mapping between serializer pins and functions on the subsystems below.
Can we use these devices for non-digital video applications ? or do we need to supply it with H and V syncs ?
