TLK110 - CMOS-level clock input

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLK110

Hi,

Regarding the CRYSTAL/OSCILLATOR INPUT for TLK110,
is it required to apply the clock before applying the power-supply to the device?

Actually the datasheet "9.6.2 Reset Timing" mentions
"XI Clock must be stable for minimum of 1ms during RESET pulse low time"
but in our case we apply the power before providing the CMOS-level clock source to pin XI.
Do we have to change the sequence that clock is applied before the power-supply?

Best Regards.

  • Hi,

The REF_CLK is requried to be availble before RESET is released.
In case the customer using the Internal POR, the minimum time for POR to be released is ~100Msec, in this case the REF_CLK need to be available less then 100 msec after the power was applied.

In case external RESET is being used, the REF_CLK can be supplied after power up but ~10 usec before the RESET is released.

    Thanks,

    Oren
