TUSB2046B interface to 4 x ft245rl

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB2046B

I am trying to use TUSB2046B to interface to 3 x ft245rl (pdf attached). can i omit the 27r resistors and 22pf capacitors normally required to terminate the downstream

DP and DM pins and drive the signals directly I will not be using power management of the TUSB2046B. DESIGN IS A SINGLE pcb with ftdi and TI parts.

Does upstram USB port need 75240. Is 2k2 AND 1 UF sufficiant for reset circuit

  • Hello,

The 27 ohm resistors and and 22pF capacitors are indeed required. If they are not populated there is the risk to be non-compliant, these passive components are required by the USB spec.

If the up-stream port is NOT going to be detachable the you don't need the ESD protection.

A simple RC circuit is good for the power-up reset. Please see the RESET# terminal's description for timing requirements. (2k2 and 1uF sounds good)

    Regards.
