SN65LVCP114 GPIO mode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65LVCP114, SN65LVCP1414

Hi TI support team.

Please recommend a GPIO mode configuration for the following application using the SN65LCP114. The description on the datasheet is not detailed enough for me to make a judgment.

The SN65LCP114 is used to branch out the SFI signals. The 2 repeater solution is as follows.

IC --- (10 inches FR4) àrepeater à connector--- (3 inches FR4) --connector  à repeater --- (10 inches FR4)à IC

The strapping pins including:

DRV_PK#/SCL

VOD/CS

EQ0/ADD0

EQ1/ADD1

EQ_MD/ADD2

GAIN

  • Hi Madhuri,

The settings that you chose for the SN65LVCP114 are going to depend on your channel loss profile. Do you have the capability of measuring or simulating the channel so that you can accurately know the loss that you are trying to overcome?

Where exactly in your description of the channel above is the SN65LVCP114? Which configuration are you looking to put the device in, 1:2 or 2:1?

    Regards,

    Mike

  • Thanks Mike.

Sorry for the typo. We are going to use the SN65LVCP1414 now.

We don’t have any way to measure or simulate the channel.

The info I can give is it is SFI signal, FR4 board material, connector loss about -1DB, and the connection looks like below.

    IC --- (10 inches FR4) àrepeater à connector--- (5 inches FR4) --connector  à repeater --- (10 inches FR4)à IC

    regards,

    Madhuri

  • Hi Madhuir,
