Let’s say I establish Link and configure the chip to auto negotiate the protocol and am then able to send and receive packets on that network. What happens if I disconnect the cable and connect it to a completely different network? Should I do a software reset of the PHY chip or will it automatically establish a new link and negotiate the protocol on the new network?
