PCIe address translation

I cannot inderstand the role of address translation in PCIe (outbound and inbound).

Why we cannot use directly PCIe data space instead of address translation ?

Thank you Diego.

I read the document and i inderstand how to use memory transfer mechanism.

But the problem for me is the cases when i can use memory translation, the document said that can be used only with memory read/write.
