TPL0401A/B grounding question

I would like to use several TPL0401 chips to set reference voltages with respect to Analog ground. I'm not really sure whether to connect the TPL GND pin to analog or digital ground. If I connect it to analog ground would I have to hook an inductor in series for shielding?

  • Hi Dave,

The TPL0401 ground should be the same ground as your reference ground and you should take all of the same precautions that were used as if it was a reference ground.  In concept, the TPL0401 behaves as a simple resistor divider from the H terminal to GND.  If there is any discrepancy in your ground potential then, this same disturbance will show up in your divided down reference voltages.

    Best Regards,
