Pulse Transformer with TLK110

Hi,

Regarding the pulse transformer connection with TLK110 PHY.
The datasheet recommendation and the TLK110 EVM's connection seems different(opposite)
We would like to know which connection is recommeded?

From the datasheet "Figure 7-1. 10/100Mbs Twisted Pair Interface"
recommends the signals to be connected to the back side of the transformers
but in case of the TLK110 EVM(SLLU155) the signasl are connect to the surface(Reverse)
of the transformer.

Please let us know which is the recommended way.

And also is it ok to use the Pulse Transformer TLA-6T118(TDK) with TLK110?

    Hi Prad,

    • figure 7-1 is only illustrative. (no pin numbers or specific transformer)
    • the transformer has 2 sides. one side is connected to the PHY: ch_A, ch_B and a CT (center tap) the other side is connected to the RJ45. please see attchment. the sllu155 schematic where the attached Jpg is referenced from is an exact example connection. in this case with pulse hx1188 magnetic.
    • regarding the TLA-6T118(TDK)  according to the part spec, it seems to be ok for use.
