What is the merit to short the VDD33 pin to VBAT pin?

And, What is the demerit to short the VDD33 pin to VBAT pin?

I consider whether I should short the VDD33 pin to VBAT pin.

Hi Kanemaru,
I think it is a feature of the TUSB1210 to take advantage of. If you apply +5V to Vbat, you can use the internal LDO in order to provide power to the internal circuitry. However, if your system is able to apply +3.3V to Vbat, this pin can be connected to VDD33.
