Hello,

Our customer looking for high speed RS-232 transceiver, like MAXIM MAX13237(3Mbps).

The target are 2.2Mbps at 5Vcc and to have a operation mode that driver is Hi-Z with receiver is active.

I selected MAX3227E, because "operates at least 1Mbit/s" is described in top page of the datasheet.

But, in "Switching Characteristics", maximum data rate is 1000(min.)kbit/s. Typ. and max value are not shown, so I can't see this device operate with over 1Mbit/s.

Please let me know whether MAX3227E can operate with over 1Mbit/s or not, and if possible, please provide some data or information about MAX3227E data rate.

Hi Hiro,

If you are looking for high speed RS-232 transceivers MAXIM part is best choice as other RS-232 drivers from TI or EXAR has the maximum speed of 1000Kbps only.
