DS26LV32 part to part skew

The DS26LV32 part to part skew states a typ:7ns and a max:17ns.  Do you have any data available as to how this skew is affected by temperature and/or voltage?  The note in the datasheet states that these values assume a +/- 0.1V VCC, and a +/-5 degC temperature, but if we were able to hold these tolerances tighter could we keep the skew down?   In other words, is there any way we can bound this tighter?  Our goal is a source synchronous interface with several data lines and off phase clocking (rising edge transmit, falling edge sample at destination),... having to design around the 17ns really limits the data rate.  Faster parts inevitably have some other limitations, whether it be common mode range, or no quad receiver packages.... any suggestions or additional part data is appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

  • Hi Mark,

This part was designed many years ago, and I was not able to find any recorded data regarding to the part-to-part skew parameter. In general, the part-to-part skew is more dependent on process variations, and my guess is that tightening better than +-0.1V VCC and/or +-5C wont help.
