XIO2001 Diff Clock Common Mode Reference

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: XIO2001

Hi,

Could you tell me if the XIO2001 can support a clock with 850mV common mode, 400mV swing?  I am changing to a HCSL driver for next spin but have existing hardware that is using a LVDS output.  I can insert a common mode with additional circuitry but am wondering if the XIO2001 can handle that high of a common mode.

Thanks

Stephen

  • Just to update that the XIO2001 is functional with the following Reference Clock (Bench testing), I did a quick test to see if this would work.

    Vcm: 850mV

    Vdiff: 350mV

  • Hello Stephen,

Having a common mode of 850mV and a swing of 400mV will give a signal out of spec, according with the PCI CEM Spec, the maximum high level voltage is 1.15V, it is possible that your system worked with 850mV common mode and 350mV swing but we can't guarantee the functionality of the device using it out of specification.

    Regards.
