our customer asked if they can use ISO7240 as a level shifter. i.e. Supply A is 5V and Supply B is 3.3V. So input is 5V logic and output logic is 3.3V.
Thanks!

Yes , he can use it as level shifter.

Hello,
I am also using same component for my project but if I am having supply A of 32V and supply B of 3.3V will it work as level shifter? Need some urgent response if anyone can help.
Thank you
Hi Mitesh,
The ISO7240 can only handle VCC voltages of 3.15 to 5.5 volts, and the inputs can only handle up to 6 volts. Please see page 3 of the datasheeet.
You would have to levelshift the 32 volt signals before interfacing them with the ISO7240.
Thanks,
John
Hi John,
Thanks for your reply, as read in previous query I can use it for level shifting from 5V to 3.3V, but can I use it for reverse operation for level shifting ( Supply A of 3.3V and Supply B of 5V)?
Thank you,
Mitesh
Hi Mitesh,
All of our isolators can work as level shifters in both directions since the outputs are push-pull output stages and pull high to the VCC on that side of the chip.
Thanks,
John
