ISO742x with 3.7V on one side?

The data sheet is quite clear on the recommended voltage ranges 3.15V to 3.45V for 3.3V and 4.75V to 5.25V for 5V operations. Omitting the LDO in my power isolator gives me 3.69V to 3.7V. I have not seen any negative effects when doing so. Now I am wondering if there is a good technical reason not to run the ISO742x between the two recommended ranges.

Thanks,

Bernd

  • Hi Bernd,

The reason we give a limited Vcc range in the datasheet is because we don't collect data at every possible supply voltage. Therefore we can't guarantee that with a 3.7V supply you will meet all of the datasheet values. That being said, the parts should work between 3.15V and 5.25V.

    Thanks,
