The issue of the use of DS90UB913/914.

Hi.

DS90UB913/914 chips by making the board works fine.

System block : CAMERA PART(CMOS IMAGE SENSOR + 913) +CABLE+ LCD MONITOR(7" TFT-LCD + 914).

Board action is as well, but there is one issue.

Camera lcd monitor screen at initial operation connecting to the broken status quo.

Screen breakage phenomenon(about 20 seconds to 1 minute, and return to the normal screen,  lcd back tearing symptom0.

Must return to the normal screem.

Mostly, the camera and connect it for the first time or when connecting the cable agin, often occured.

If you look at the status quo: vsync and hsync cracked screen waveform even longer.

Looking for the current measure for the issue, and asked for help.

Thank you.

  • Hello,

I woudl ike to understand more about the issue so that I can help to address the problem. Will you please provide the following information?

    - Can you please describe the "screen breakage phenomenon"? A photo of the bad image may be useful.

    -  Please confirm that my understanding is correct: At start-up you see bad image on display. After 20 seconds to 1 minute the display has a good image ("normal")

    - When you unplug/plug the cable, the same bad image occurs on the display.

    - Can you provide scope shots of VSYNC, HSYNC and LOCK pin status under normal display and bad image conditons?

    - What kind of cable is being used?

I look forward to hearing back from you.

    Thanks and best regards,

    Sue

  • Hi.

    Answer is late.

LCD screen broken phenomenon occurs with non-periodic.

CAMERA BOARD with LCD BOARD connection within 10 seconds or more than 20 minutes over time:
    And irregular.

LCD Screen Flashing, screen vibration, Video ON/OFF in the occurrence of such phenomena.

    1. Split this into two halves, the top and bottom of the image.(Lcd tearing).

    2. Screen vibration.

    3. Screen on/off .

    4. Vsync waveform.

    5. Rosenberger cable used.

    Thanks you.

  • Hello,

Thanks for providing the addtional details. It appears that the Vsync duration of the camera output (input to serializer) is changing between the "normal" and "abnormal" case. This leads to a similar shift at the LCD (output of deserializer). This may be the cause of some instability at the camera imager output.

Are you able to connect the camera output directly to the LCD (no SER/DES link)? If so, do you see the same abnormal image? This will help to confirm if the imager output timing is the root cause of the abnormal issue.

    Best regards,

    Sue
