I have a customer enquiry, requirement as

One TX and 4 RX. Simplex, at 1Gbps. prefers a pair of differential line between TX and RX.

The TX FPGA is going to output LVDS and the RX FPGA are expecting LVDS input

We have taken a look at M-LVDS which would be ideal in the multidrop configuration but the data rate is max 250Mbps. Do you have any recommendation on higher speed parts?

On a separate note, would like to check with you on the different on MLVDS and LVDM?

HI Ivan,

The difference between MLVDS and LVDM is that MLVDS is a standard and LVDM was TIs attempt at the MLVDS topic before the MLVDS standard existed. The LVDM family of parts is compliant with the 644 LVDS standard though. The two differences between LVDM and MLVDS is the output current of the LVDM family of part is half of what the MLVDS standard calls for and the LVDM family does not provide edge rate control. For your customer request take a look at the SN65LVDS250 and SN65LVDS125A. They are 4x4 crosspoint switches that are rated up to 2.5Gbps and 1.5Gbps with LVDS inputs and outputs. Please let me know if you have anymore questions.

In my application, if the customer can compromise to 800Mbps, would DS90LV110T be able to do the job as well?

Hi Ivan,

After reviewing the data sheet it seems that the DS90LV110T will be suitable for the customers application. I do not directly support that part though.
