TUSB1210 clock input requirements when in a non-operating mode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB1210

Hello,

I have been looking at 26 MHz oscillators to pair with the TUSB1210. In our application we will be using it with an AM37x in OTG mode, solely for debugging purposes. I'd like to use an oscillator that can be shut down completely for power savings during normal, non-debugging operation.

In the case when the oscillator would be shut down, the oscillator's output would go tri-state, and as a result, the REFCLK pin on the TUSB1210 would float. Would this floating input be a concern if the RESETB or CS pins were held low to put the device into OFF or RESET mode? Optimally I'd prefer not to load the output of the oscillator with a pull-up resistor to maintain a known state on REFCLK if it is not needed.

Regards - AM
