Hi,
I'm wondering if there is a EVM for the sn65dsi84 ? Figure 1 of the hardware implementation guidelines hints at one being available http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slla340/slla340.pdf

Hi Calum,
Yes, the pcb picture in the HW manual leads one to believe there is indeed an EVM; in this case, I believe the EVM is made by a third-party, CCI (CATCAN Creative Inc) and this company is in Taiwan, so I'm verifying.
How important is the EVM for the design process? Contact me offline with the details, please.

Hi,
Some questions:
- is the SN65DSI84 the latest ic for DSI to LVDS?
- where can I find and buy a dev kit / demo board for that or later IC?
- what is the lowest cost IC solution (ideally a single IC) for HDMI to LVDS?
Many thanks
Rick
Rick,
The following chart shows all our devices supporting DSI to LVDS.
Device |
Proc. I/F |
TCON I/F |
Max Resolution |
DSI85 |
Dual 4 Lane DSI Ports |
Dual Link LVDS |
2560x1600p60 |
DSI84 |
Single 4 Lane DSI Port |
Dual Link LVDS |
1920x1200p60 |
DSI83 |
Single 4 Lane DSI Port |
Single Link LVDS |
1400x1050p60 |
We only have two ICs solution to implement a HDMI to LVDS bridge. Please refer to the link below which provides an overview of HDMI/DVI to LVDS bridge solutions
