TCA6424ARGJR Power Pad

Where can I find specific directions for how to mount the UQFN package... specifically, I am looking for how to hand the Exposed Power Pad.  Do I ground?  Thanks.

    From Page 1 of the Data Sheet....

     

    "If used, the exposed center pad must be connected as a secondary ground or left electrically open."

    Is there any harm in connecting the center pad to the ground of the power supplies? The wording in the datasheet ("Secondary Ground") seems to imply that the power supply ground (Pin 25) is not supposed to be connected there.

    My design can get better thermal performance if I can tie the center pad to the ground plane of the board, so it would be good to know if this is acceptable.

    No harm....connecting to the supply grounds is fine. The power pad can be connected to any (if more than 1) board ground plane or left "floating" (no electrical connection).
