SN65LVCP408 Compatibility issues with 3G-SDI receiver

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65LVCP408

Hi,

I am planning to use SN65LVCP408 with a 3G-SDI receiver in my system in a 8 input and 4 output configuration. I am planning to connect them in AC coupling mode so that the Common mode voltage requirements will be taken care of. However I am seeing that the output voltage differential swing ranges of SN65LVCP408 do not match with the input voltage differential swing of receiver.

The datasheet of SN65LVCP408 mentions that the output differential swing range is from 1000 - 1500 mVpp. Whereas the receiver input differential swing range is from 500-1100 mVpp.

Can anyone help me out in resolving this issue?

I am in the closing phase of my design and any quick help will be really appreciated.

Regards

Ayusman

  • Hi Ayusman,

In the data sheet for the SN65LVCP408 I see the input differential swing listed as 100-1750mV for data rates < 4.25Gbps. What page of the document is it listed that the input differential swing ranges from 500-1100mVpp?

    Regards,

  • Hi Mike,

I think I have confused you with my post. I am interfacing the output of SN65LVCP408 with the input of a 3G-SDI receiver in AC coupling mode. The output differential voltage swing of SN65LVCP408 is from 1000 - 1500 mVpp. Whereas the input voltage differential swing of my 3G-SDI receiver is from 500 - 1100 mVpp. So I was wondering how can I interface them while also meeting the voltage level specs.

This has got nothing to do with the input voltage differential swing of SN65LVCP408 which is from 100 - 1750 mVpp as given in the datasheet. Hope this has clarified your doubt.

    Regards
