TRFS3223E thermal pad to ground?

Is it OK or even recommended to connect the thermal pad of the QFN device to ground? I can't see any mention of where (or if) it should be connected in the datasheet.

Declan,

Connecting to ground is OK and this helps thermal preformance by transferring heat to ground plane.
The pad is not a substitute for the ground pin which must be connected to the same node, ground.
