Hello,

I'm looking for ESD protection device for DS26LS31C.

1.
I think that TPD2E007 or TPD1E10B09 can use for ESD protection for DS26LS31C.
Is my understanding correct ?
Could you please kindly let me know the ohter ESD protection device for DS26LS31C?

2.
If other solution for ESD protection could you please kindlly let me know ?

Best Regards,

  • Asaka-San,

Your selection, TPD2E007, should work fine. I looked at the data sheets for these two devices. DS26LS31C is guaranteed using 30pF load(other than Tlz and Thz) Meanwhile TPD2E007 has 15pF load max so i think you should be able to use these two devices together.

  • Hello Nasser san,

    Thank you for the reply.
I understood we can use TPD2E007 for esd protection of DS26LS31C due to capacitive load.

By the way, can I select  further small input capacitance ESD protection device ? ( For example , TPD4E05U06)
Are there any problem in this case?
I would like to know it for selection ESD protection in the future.

  • Greetings Asaka-San,

Sure the lower the Capacitance the better it would be. This is because the lower Capacitance has less parasitics and less effect on the AC performance of the device. So it all depends on the AC performance(i.e rise/fall time and data rate) of the device. When you increase the Capacitance we are attenuating the high frequency content of the signal. In higher data rates we need to preserve the high energy content to help the receiver on the other side.

  • Hello Nasser san,

DS26LS31C absolute maximum supply boltage is 7V.
TPD2E007 breake down voltage is ±14V.

Thus , DS26LS31 will be applied over absolute maximum voltage when ESD occured.
Is DS26LS31 quality garanteed in that time?

    Best Regards,
    Ryuji Asaka
  • Asaka-San,

It is better if you can please find ESD protection device with 7V breakdown. As you pointed out the absolute maximum rating of the device is 7V.
