TLK2711 Differential Termination

Hello,

I have a question about the RXP and RXN inputs on the TLK2711. The datasheet shows two figures (Figure 11 and Figure 12) which are supposed to illustrate the termination on the serial interface. It's not clear to me if I'm being shown that the termination is internal to the part, or if that is something I need to add externally myself.

Thanks!

-Andrew

  • Hello Andrew,

I understand your confusion. If you examine figures 11 and 12 again you will notice the RXN and RXP boxes. These physically represent the pins of the IC making the termination internal to the TLK2711. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

    Regards,

    Mike

Thanks, Mike! Yes, I had thought that perhaps the boxes were meant to represent the pins but I wanted to double check. I have several of these devices in the design I'm working on so I wanted to get it right before I had to find a way to add a resistor network to each of them if I turned out to be wrong.
