Hi,
Would it be possible to directly connect the output from a DS90UB913Q serializer to the high speed transceivers of a fpga?

Hi,

Hi Thomas,
The UB913 serializer, and its companion UB914 deserializer, utilize a bidirectional control channel for control and configuration that would be incompatible with the FPGA. These devices also use a proprietary encoding and signaling scheme that would also not be available on the FPGA. The serializer and its matching deserializer are required.
Hello Ryan,
The original FPD-Link was an open standard and Ti devices would interoperate with other manufacturers devices. Is that not the case for FPD-Link III?
Would the UB913 work with the Maxim MAX9272 for example?
You mention it uses a proprietary encoding scheme; does TI license the IP for implementation in FPGA?
Hi Ray,
Unlike the original FPD-Link, FPD-Link III is a TI proprietary interface and will NOT interoperate with other vendor devices. It’s currently not open or available for IP licensing.
